Scope of Practice

Scope of practice include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performing comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams.

 

• Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnose and establish a working diagnosis.

 

• Conducting patient rounds

 

• Coordination of admissions and discharges with the attending physician 

 

• Orders diagnostic and perform therapeutic procedures (placing central lines, lumbar punctures, etc.)

 

• Issuing orders for medications, treatments, and lab tests

 

• discharge planning and dictating discharge summaries 

 

• Hospital committee work to improve processes of care
